Mohammed Siraj made a big move in the ICC Test Bowler Rankings, jumping 12 spots from 27th to 15th his career-best position to date.
He came into the series as India’s most experienced bowler alongside Jasprit Bumrah, expected to lead the attack in England conditions. With Bumrah playing only three Tests to manage his workload, Siraj stepped up whenever needed and delivered.
A Series to Remember for Siraj

His best figures were 6/70 in Edgbaston. However, his most impactful spell came on Day 5 of The Oval Test, where he made the soft ball swing at will in overcast conditions. Defending 35 runs with just 4 remaining for England, Siraj held his nerve and sealed a dramatic win for India.
That match-winning effort earned him the Player of the Match award and helped India level the series 2-2 , sharing the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025.

Following his contribution, Siraj jumped to 15th in the ICC Test Bowling Rankings, with a career-best rating of 674 points. Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah retained his No. 1 spot.
Shubman Gill's Dropped Four Places
On the batting front, Yashasvi Jaiswal moved up three places to claim the 5th spot in the ICC Test Batting Rankings. However, Indian skipper Shubman Gill dropped four places, falling out of the top 10 despite a record-breaking tour. He now sits at 13th.
