Gill CT 2025 vs BAN

Shubman Gill yet again managed to drop anchor for India in a tricky chase of 229 against Bangladesh in the ongoing Champions Trophy match in Dubai. While everyone thought chasing would be easier on the UAE surfaces, it was far from true, as after the departure of skipper Rohit Sharma for a brisk (41), Virat Kohli (22 runs off 38 balls), and Shreyas Iyer (15 runs off 17 balls) struggled for timing on the Dubai surface which got pretty slower for batting.

Rohit's wicket just before the power play brought Bangladesh right back to the content. After his dismissal, the Tigers kept attacking Kohli and Gill and did not give away easy boundaries. Gill, who scored freely in the power play, suddenly found run-scoring hard to come by.

Kohli, who tried to get his eye in, could not put the pressure back on Bangladesh. In the middle phases of the innings, the Shnto-led side brought leg spinner Rishad Hossain, who was very tough to get away. He also chipped in with vital wickets of Kohli and Axar Patel for (8).

Nonetheless, India had Gill at the other end, the number one ODI-ranked batter mixed caution with aggression and is playing risk-free cricket at the moment. Alongside the 25-year-old is KL Rahul, who has the ability to soak the pressure and also switch gears when needed. At this moment, India's asking rate is well under control.
