Indian pacer Harshit Rana has landed himself up in trouble for his aggressive celebrations once again, this time in the Delhi Premier League. The matches are being played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

Rana is leading the Northern Strikers in the tournament and was fined for his aggressive celebrations against West Delhi Lions in the DPL 2025 match. The Strikers eventually ended up winning the match by 17 runs.

The incident took place in the 19th match of DPL 2025, where Harshit Rana took early wickets with West Delhi chasing a target of 166 runs. Rana provided the early breakthrough by shattering West Delhi batter Ayush Doseja’s stumps. The delivery was so forceful that it managed to even break the bail.

The wicket was followed by Rana’s aggressive send-off for which he was fined. He asked the batsman to “go off”, signalling with his left hand. The league also came up with an official statement regarding Harshit’s fine.

“Harshit Rana has been fined 10% of the match fees for breaching the Adani Delhi Premier League T20 Code of Conduct. Rana admitted to the Level 1 Offence under Article 2.5 (Using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from another player in the Match) and accepted the Match Referee’s sanction” read DPL’s statement.

Two other players in the same game were fined 20 percent of their match fees for a verbal argument. The players were North Delhi Strikers batter Yajas Sharma and West Delhi Lions batter Krish Yadav.

Rana Won Three Games As Captain In DPL 2025

Speaking about Harshit Rana, he was a part of the India - A side that played matches against England Lions. He went for 99 runs in 27 overs for just one wicket in the in the unofficial Test against England Lions in Canterbury and was released from the squad ahead of the second Test against England at Edgbaston. Currently leading the Northern Delhi Strikers in the DPL, he has won three out of the four games as captain. His performances might help him get selected in the Indian team for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025.
