England takes on India in the fifth and final Test at The Oval starting from July 31. Both teams have all to play for in this final Test with England looking to win the series and India looking to draw it.
The Test series started at Headingley with England winning the first Test. India came back to win the second Test at Edgbaston. That followed a heart-breaking loss for India at Lord’s followed by a steely performance from India to draw the fourth Test in Manchester to keep the series alive,
The series has been very well fought by two teams on the pitch and off it as well. Thus, the final Test at the Oval will be a culmination of what has been a terrific series in recent times.

England vs India 5th Test, Match Preview
Speaking about England first, they have already named their playing XI for the fifth Test. Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer are ruled out of the final Test, with Ollie Pope set to lead the side. Out goes Brydon Carse as well who played all four previous Test matches. Jacob Bethell, Gus Atkinson, Josh Tongue and Jamie Overton are also part of the side. This is an altogether new lineup for England with the bowling attack looking a lot inexperienced in the absence of Stokes and Archer. Stokes is the leading wicket-taker in the series with 17 wickets.
Talking about India, Rishabh Pant is all but ruled out of the fifth Test with a foot injury. Dhruv Jurel will replace him in the side. Jasprit Bumrah is also likely to be rested after recent reports by the BCCI medical team on his workload. A Test debut looms large for Arshdeep Singh with Akash Deep set to return into the XI. Mohammed Siraj, the workhorse, will put in one final effort to win the match for his side. India have bittersweet memories of playing at The Oval. They beat England in 2021 but lost the WTC final against Australia in 2023.
