Sai Sudarshan and Shubman Gill Steers GT of to Solid Start

Gujarat Titans are chasing 170 to win against RCB at the Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru. They have made a cautious start to their chase. Earlier in the game, RCB posted 169/8 in their 20 overs.

Shubman Gill, the GT skipper lost his wicket early in the chase. He scored 14 off 14 balls before Bhuvneshwar Kumar got him caught at third-man by Liam Livingstone. Gill's wicket was an early blow to the Titans

Since then, Jos Buttler ( 27 runs off 17 balls) and Sai Sudharshan (37 runs off 29 balls) have handled the chase pretty well. The duo have added an unbeaten stand of 63 runs, denying the RCB bowlers from making further inroads. They started cautiously but then once they were set, launched an attack on the RCB bowlers. While the left-hander struck a few fours, Buttler hit a few sixes to quickly take the score past 50. After 10 overs, the Titans posted 82/1.

Gujarat Titans Well-Placed After First 10 Overs

RCB batting first posted 169/8 after losing four wickets inside the powerplay. Liam Livingstone (54 runs off 40 balls) played an anchor role in the RCB innings. After the likes of Virat Kohli, Phil Salt, Devdutt Padikkal and Rajat Patidar was dismissed early, Livingstone forged a brilliant partnership with Jitesh Sharma (33 runs off 21 balls) first and then Tim David (32 runs off 18 balls).

Mohammed Siraj led the GT bowling attack, taking 3/19 in his four overs. Left-arm spinner Sai Kishore took 2 wickets for 22 runs. It was a bad day at the office for Rashid Khan who remained wicketless and gave away 54 runs in his four overs.

Kishore spoke about his bowling spell in the mid-innings break and revealed how he planned Krunal Pandya's dismissal. He also spoke about how he has tried to stay relevant in T20 cricket.

"I felt when you bowl into the wicket, it was assisting the spinners, but you never know until both teams bowl on it. What I mean by that is getting good shape on the ball and bowling like a proper red ball game. To be relevant in T20 cricket, you have to keep evolving. Over the last 3-4 years I have been practicing that ball but haven't bowled it anywhere (the one which dismissed Krunal). But I felt I was confident enough to bowl it in this IPL so I went with my instinct. It's like a carrom ball. I get more dip on it. I don't know what it is so I can call it anything" said Sai.
