IPL 2025 Match 50 RR vs MI Highlights: Boult, Chahar, Bumrah, Hardik All Among Wickets As Royals Post 82/7 After 10 Overs

Bumrah narrowly missed a hat-trick in the first 10 overs

Rajasthan Royals (RR) are chasing a mammoth 218 runs against Mumbai Indians in Jaipur to stay alive in the tournament. The Royals are tottering early in the chase as the MI bowlers have not allowed them to get off to a good start.

Rajasthan Royals, on the back of a terrific win over Gujarat Titans, won the toss and opted to chase. However, the decision has not proved to be wise so far as they have fallen way behind the asking rate in the chase.

Deepak Chahar (13 runs in 2 overs) and Trent Boult (28 runs in 2 overs) took wickets in the first two overs. Yashasvi Jaiswal (13 runs off 6 balls) and Vaibhav Suryavanshi ( 0 off 2 balls) got dismissed cheaply. The 14-year-old could not get a good start after his century in the previous game.

Mumbai All Over Rajasthan In Jaipur

As if RR were not in early trouble, Boult came back to dismiss Nitish Rana (9 runs off 11 balls) in the fourth over. Jasprit Bumrah ( 12 runs in 2 overs) bowling his first over which was the fifth of the Royals innings, took two wickets as he dismissed Riyan Parag (16 runs off 8 balls) and Shimron Hetmyer (0 off 1).

Regular loss of wickets pegged back Rajasthan's chase early as they lost five wickets inside the first five overs. Some disciplined bowling from the Mumbai pacers restricted Rajasthan Royals to 62/5 after the powerplay. The MI bowlers kept up the pressure even after the powerplay. Hardik Pandya (2 runs in 1 over), bowling his first over dismissed RR impact Sub Shubham Dubey (15 runs off 9 balls). The MI bowlers were relentless throughout the first 10 overs as the Royals finally reached 82 for 7 after their first 10 overs. The Royals still need 136 runs in the back 10 overs. As said earlier, a loss for RR against MI will knock them out of the playoffs race.

Earlier in the game, Mumbai Indians posted a mammoth score of 217 runs for 2 wickets after being asked to bat first. Their top four all contributed with Rohit Sharma (53 runs off 36 balls), Ryan Rickelton (61 runs off 38 balls), Suryakumar Yadav (48 * runs off 23 balls) and Hardik Pandya (48* runs off 23 balls) all scoring runs.
