In what comes as a massive relief for Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC), the PBKS vs DC clash on May 08 in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) season, which was abruptly abandoned at the HPCA Stadium in Dharmshala will now be conducted from ball one. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) suspended IPL 2025 mid-way because of heightening tensions between India and Pakistan after the former's precision strike in the latter's terrorist sites and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir on May 07.
Indian Government gave a fitting response to the cowardly terror strike by Pakistan at Pahalgam on April 22, which killed 26 innocent lives. While BCCI and IPL Governing Body went with the scheduled match on May 08 in Dharamshala, it could not be completed, as only 10 overs were possible.
Why was the PBKS vs DC game abandoned?
The PBKS vs DC fixture on May 08 was halted around 9:35 PM after a sudden complete darkness at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala. Later, the IPL confirmed that it was twin floodlight failure that caused the match to be suspended. However, several reports later confirmed that the match was stopped mid way due to air raid alerts in the nearby regions like Pathankot - approx 90 Km away from Dharamshala ground.

Also, all 10 franchises have been informed to keep the players and support staff on standby as the tournament could restart tentatively in the third week of May, depending on the current situation.
