Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Rajat Patidar has dismissed injury rumors as he stepped onto the training field for an intense practice session ahead of the upcoming clash against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
Rajat Patidar returns as RCB Captain
Rajat Patidar suffered a finger injury during the match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), leading to reports that he would miss a few matches. In his absence, Jithesh Sharma was named captain for the clash against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Phase 1, prior to the tournament's temporary suspension. However, with the tournament on hold, Patidar was able to recover fully and was recently seen training rigorously in the nets in Bengaluru.

Initial reports suggested that he might miss the KKR match scheduled for May 17, Saturday. However, RCB shared a video of him practicing intensely, confirming that he will indeed lead the team in the upcoming match against KKR.
While Patidar had a promising start to the season, he has managed to score only 239 runs in 11 matches thus far. With several top stars missing from the batting lineup, there is great expectation for him to step up in this crucial phase.

Jithesh Sharma gears up for the important clash in Bengaluru
Alongside Patidar, Jithesh Sharma also participated in intensive batting drills in the nets. He is yet to find his prime form this season, having scored only 128 runs in 11 matches, with no half-centuries to his name. However, his focused training ahead of the KKR match will be vital, as he is expected to be an important contributor in the final matches while the team aims for the trophy.
RCB has three matches remaining in the league stage—against KKR, LSG, and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Currently sitting in second place on the points table with 16 points, they are in a strong position to secure qualification, with their sights firmly set on the trophy.
