Former Pakistan skipper Shoaib Malik has quit his position as PCB mentor citing "other commitments" reasons. He was one of the five mentors selected by the Pakistan Cricket Board, including Misbah-ul-Haq, Saqlain Mushtaq, Sarfaraz Ahmed and Waqar Younis.
The former Pakistan captain said that he had an eventful time in his position as he got to work with some of the most talented cricketers from Pakistan.

This Is The Right Time For Transition - Shoaib Malik
He further said that he thought about this decision a lot before getting to it. He added that this was not an easy choice for him as he had to shuffle between two commitments at the same time.
"This was not an easy choice, but after reflecting on my commitments, I realised that juggling multiple responsibilities would prevent me from giving my best, both to Pakistan cricket and to my other professional and personal priorities. To ensure fairness to all, I believe this is the right time to transition. Working with some of Pakistan's most talented cricketers has been an immensely rewarding experience, one I will always cherish," Malik said.
There are speculations that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is willing to remove all the other mentors as well. It has been said that on the day of Malik's resignation, the board had decided to cut down the rest as well after a busy domestic season.
A spokesperson from the PCB confirmed that a decision on the final four has not yet been made and that PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi will arrive at a decision soon. Cricnfo spoke to the other four members, who said that nothing has been communicated to them yet. The five of them were appointed for a three-year contract till 2027.
