Dubai International Stadium, which is also known as the Dubai Sports City Cricket Stadium, is a well-known cricket ground in the UAE. It is a part of the Dubai Sports City. The stadium has a capacity of around 25,000 fans, which can be expanded to 30,000 when needed.
The venue saw its first One Day International being played on April 22, 2009, when Pakistan faced Australia. Later in November 2010, the ground staged its first-ever Test match between Pakistan and South Africa. It also entered T20I history in 2009 when Pakistan and Australia played against each other.
The Dubai International Stadium has also become a familiar name for IPL fans. In 2014, it was part of the Indian Premier League’s UAE leg. It again returned to the IPL map in 2020 and hosted the second phase of the 2021 tournament after the original schedule in India was disrupted due to COVID-19.
